
The Epson driver isn't in yet to see if that's the fix, because, frankly, I don't know how to get the downloaded file installed. If anyone knows what is/is not needed to make the printer run, I'd appreciate a tutorial. I saw another forum that says Epson has Linux driver. I read on some forums about what is needed to make a printer actually print, but I'm getting lost. They refer you to the Windows 10 'auto' installed driver, yet the Epson CD printing software says it wont print because there is no Epson driver. It won't print on either computer from a serial cable, and I tried another cable, just in case. I have a wifi Color LaserJet but kept on my old Epson R320 for printing photographs on photo paper. The ASUS is a year old but not exactly one of their powerhouse models. I should have gotten rid of MS Windows years ago! So, I'm a moron at Linux but at least smart enough (eventually) to have switched over! The subject computer is a HP Pavillion PC which is fairly ancient. I switched to Linux Mint 18.1 32 bit Cinnamon from Windows 7, yesterday! I also put Mint 18.1 64 bit on an ASUS laptop.
